Most of the wineries also have a restuarant - phone them to find out what's on the menu! • La Vierge, in the Hemel-en-Aarde Valley, offers pure culinary indulgence in the most exquisite setting. New daily specials include soup of the day with crème brûlée for R39 and a Sunday roast for R55. Pensioners can enjoy a special lunch every Friday – The 2 course meal is R45, while the 3 course option is only R55. • For homely yet delectable opulence, visit Kate’s Village Restaurant, in the Hemel-en-Aarde Village. July specials from Tuesday to Saturday: 3 course meal for R40 pp (Set menu) or A la Carte menu: Two meals for the price of one! (028-316 3582). • To experience truly luxurious gourmet cooking, try the Blue Gum Country Estate which is near Stanford. Early booking at 028-341 0116 for their three course winter Sunday lunches is essential. • Rossi’s, at 10 High Street, is great for a fun, family get-together. Besides several other specials, Kids eat free and wines are half price on Wednesday evenings. A pizza/pasta lunch special is available from Monday – Saturday. • At Panarottis in Fashion Square, Main Road, Hermanus you can eat as much pizza as you like for R38,95 on Thursdays. Kids eat for half price on Wednesdays. How good is that! • “For delicious food in a cave down by the sea in the company of whales”, try the award-winning Bientang’s Cave seafood restaurant. Booking at 028-312 3454 is recommended. • A well-priced, scrumptious breakfast buffet is served at the Harbour Rock (028-312 2920) on Saturdays and Sundays. The prime ocean view from this new Hermanus harbour venue, is amazing and the food and atmosphere are just as good. |
